Preparing for Hurricane Season: Poncho or Wetsuit?

 

When a hurricane threatens, small and midsized business leaders are faced with one question above many, “Should our doors remain open or should we temporarily close?” The question is most easily answered by whether or not the business has prepared for an emergency in advance.

In fact, according to the Gulf Coast Back to Business Act (2007), Congress finds that 43 percent of businesses that close following a natural disaster never reopen, and an additional 29 percent of businesses close down permanently within two years (Library of Congress 2009).

Yes a number of these ‘legislative rules’ are more often put in place as guidelines or ‘best practice’ as opposed to actual legal requirements but that isn’t a reason to ignore them.

“Google to abandon older browsers”

How can you protect your client’s organisation as Google begins phasing out support for users of Internet Explorer 7, Safari 3, Firefox 3.5 and their forerunners?

“Google to abandon older browser’s” this was the stark headline that appeared on the BBC News website on June 3rd. The article summarised what many have seen coming for a long time as Google try to discourage users from older browsers which have become outdated, incapable of dealing adequately with new web technologies and even more importantly have become more and more unsecure.
