New Storm Working the Youtube Ecosystem

Another day, another Storm worm tactic.
This new tactic is engineering Youtube links in an effort to get users to click and download malicious code. The link sent via email looks like a properly formatted Youtube URL, but is actually directed toward a compromised web server. To avoid DNS the link goes to a numerical IP address instead of a hostname which is also easier to take down. MORE

Spam Campaign Circulates Malware using Phony Lawsuit Notice

According to the blog from security firm TrendLabs, published on March 28, 2010, the company received samples of spam e-mails claiming as lawsuit notices. These e-mails told recipients that a lawsuit involving copyright violation had been filed in which they had to defend themselves. MORE
